What a beautiful day to begin writing my first blog!
Opened my curtains at 6.05am to see blue skies, birds tweeting and not a car in sight (sadly, that's partly due to the Coronovirus lockdown).
Sitting in bed and sipping sweet tea, I finished my first countryside embroidery piece (photo below). Now, I know it's not perfect, but I had such fun creating it - especially the river which I think has a touch of the Vincent Van Gogh's about it!

One of the many projects I have on the go at the moment is a gorgeous pink wrap made in an alpaca and Peruvian wool mix, it's similar to this beautifully soft wrap made from alpaca yarn that I spun myself. I'm a fairly proficient crocheter, but knitting has always been a step too far for me - however, I decided to give it a go! This is an incredibly simple pattern and produces a gorgeous wrap that can be worn any time of the year. I use larger needles for a looser, lighter wrap and smaller ones to produce something more snuggly and warm for the colder months.

Pattern:
1. Cast on 6 stitches
2. Knit in front and back loop of the first two stitches, knit across, knit 2 stitches together then knit final stitch.
3. Purl across row.
4. Knit in front and back loop of first two stitches, knit across, knit 2 stitches together then knit final stitch.
5. Purl across row.
Repeat until you are happy with the size of your wrap - I normally end up with around 130 stitches on my needle before casting off.
Happy crafting!
