Pet Hair Keepsakes
Your pet's fur can be transformed into a cherished memento: a custom-made teddy bear, a unique ball of yarn, a felted heart or something more personal to you. Once your pet's hair has been spun into yarn (on Delilah, my much-loved spinning wheel), it's then expertly crocheted and knitted into a beautiful item for you to treasure forever.
Collect your pet's fluff every time you brush and pop all the fur into a bag. To make a teddy bear, I'll need about a carrier bag's worth of hair, so start collecting now as it can take some time!
Once you've collected enough, post the fluff to me and I'll begin the process of turning it into a ball of yarn.
Carding, spinning, plying, washing, drying, crocheting eight separate pieces of bear and then sewing them together.
If your pet's fluff is too short to spin, it can be needle-felted into a shape of your choosing - heart, dog (I aim to match the breed where possible) or something with special meaning to you.
