My hubby was up, out and onto farm early this morning, so I decided to make myself a cuppa, settle down in the rocking chair and spin my two strands of cream alpaca yarn together. I must have been more than a little sleepy as I began by spinning the wheel the wrong way - had to cut off and bin the first few metres....then begin again!

After an hour or so of constant spinning, I was finished! Photo below.

Next job was to transfer the yarn onto the niddy-noddy, ready for washing. I prefer to wash my fleece after spinning it - washing before tends to end up with matted/felted fleece that’s not good for much.

After three washes in hand hot soapy water and lots of rinsing and squeezing, it’s ready to hang out in the sunshine to dry. After a few hours of sun and a light breeze - ta dah! Gorgeously soft and fluffy alpaca yarn! 🧶😍
