It's been a while since my last blog but don't think I have been sat with my feet up! I've been writing patterns and sorting resources for my new venture - craft lessons - and I'm so excited to be sharing my love of crochet, spinning and felting with others. Teaching primary school children is something I've done for nearly 25 years (and I loved every minute), but I must admit that the thought of teaching adults is making me a little nervous! My first crafter is booked in and I'm ready to go - crochet hooks, scissors and needles all washed, yarn ready, pattern printed, social distancing observed, cake in the tin and biscuits at the ready - I'll let you know how we get on!

I'm also super excited about a parcel that's winding its way down country from Hebden Bridge - it's a large box of rare breed Lonk fleece and it should be with me any day now. Once opened, I'll give the fleece a pick through then put it in my washing trug for a 24 hour soapy soak. It will be a few days of washing, rinsing, drying and carding before I can sit down at my spinning wheel (I now have four, yes four!) and make some yarn. Meet my wheels....

Meet Talulah - she's my little Ashford Traveller and she comes with me to shows and markets - she's easy to move around due to her size.

Delilah - an impulse buy, she was bought with a view to selling her on but I became too attached and now she's part of the family!

Betsy - my very first wheel - a Christmas present from my long-suffering husband.

And Mabel - because you can't have too many spinning wheels!

Happy September!
