Pet Hair Teddy Bear

If your pet holds a special place in your heart (I know mine all do), I can turn your pet's fluff into a forever keepsake.
 
All you need to do is collect your pet's hair every time you brush, I need a good sized carrier bag stuffed full (the more the better). Please don't wash the hair - I work with it exactly as it comes off your pet. Sadly, I cannot use cut hair or the top guard hairs, I need the lovely, soft undercoat that fills the pet brush.
 
Once you've posted the hair to me, I'll let you know I've received it and then I set to work.
First, I'll brush through the hair to get all the fibres set in the same direction (this makes it easier to spin). Once I've carded the hair, I use my spinning wheel (Primose) to spin it onto bobbins, then ply two bobbins together to get the desired thickness of yarn. Once plied, I wind it on to my niddy noddy, secure it then wash, wash, wash. Once it's clean and rinsed, I hang the yarn outside to dry in the fresh air. 
 
Now to crochet! I'll crochet the head and body as one piece, then a snout, two ears, legs and arms and a small tail. You can choose whether to go all natural and have your teddy bear stuffed with sheep fleece (don't worry, the fleece has been washed, dried and carded!) or polyester teddy stuffing. Finally, I sew all the pieces together and add the eyes and nose.
Ta dah! You'll have one gorgeous teddy bear made from your own pet's fluff!
 
If you have more than one pet, you can collect fluff from any number of animals and I can spin it all together to make your teddy.
